Global to Local 2023
DELL MEDICAL SCHOOL GLOBAL HEALTH INTEREST GROUP PRESENTS
Decolonizing Global Health to ensure Health Equity
About Us
The decolonizing global health movement interrogates modern day inequities in global health as a critical reflection of the colonial and neo-colonial forces and histories that have governed and shaped the global health landscape. These include the way future global health leaders and practitioners are educated, the way research is funded, where institutions of power are situated in the world, and where sources of capital, resources, and aid originate from. Importantly, it also represents a crucial opportunity to express solidarity with leaders, practitioners, and communities of the Global South and to empower and elevate their voices and autonomy in the fight for global health equity and social justice.
The UT Austin Dell Medical School Global Health Interest Group invites you to take an active part in the urgent discussion and call for innovative system-level solutions at the 2023 Global to Local Conference: Decolonizing Global Health to ensure Health Equity.
Global to Local is an annual conference hosted by the Dell Medical School Global Health Interest Group; Global to Local 2023 is the fourth iteration of the conference. To read more about our previous conference, please click here.
